Be A Good Sport

Jack Allaben Wins 2025 Sportsmanship Award

Paul Kolenich holds sportsmanship trophy

The Pine Tree Apple Tennis Classic is proud to honor Jack Allaben as the 2025 Sportsmanship Award winner in recognition to the player who exemplifies good sportsmanship and unwavering dedication to our mission.

Jack’s connection to the tournament began long before he stepped onto the court. After years of growing up with the event, he finally became eligible to compete in the Open draw in 2023—and made an immediate impact, raising $7,500 in his first year.

In 2024, Jack returned to the court and also started managing the tournament' social media, helping share the Pine Tree story in fresh and creative ways.

This year, Jack raised over $10,000, continued to share our online presence, and helped by Dellwood Tennis & Pickleball into the fundraising effort. A tireless ambassador for our cause, Jack brought new energy to the tournament by recruiting both players and fans—spreading the Pine Tree spirit throughout the community.

Pine Tree Apple Tennis Classic Sportsmanship Award Recipients

Since 2000, a Sportsmanship Award has been awarded each year to a player who has demonstrated qualities of good sportsmanship and who has significantly demonstrated his or her commitment to the cause of the Pine Tree Apple Tennis Classic. The winner is selected by the Pine Tree Apple Tennis Classic Player Liaison Committee and is awarded as part of the Sunday Patient Recognition program prior to the Open Finals. Congratulations to all of our past winners!
